We've gotten a lot of questions recently about what makes the Moxy Monitor different from a Pulse Oximeter. And for athletes looking to learn more about there bodies, that is a great question. The main difference is that the Moxy Monitor measures muscle oxygen saturation (SmO2) in the capillaries while a pulse oximeter measures hemoglobin oxygen saturation (SpO2) in the arteries. That means that a pulse oximeter demonstrates only the saturation of the oxygen leaving your lungs, while Moxy monitors the percentage of hemoglobin and myoglobin that is carrying oxygen to give a more comprehensive look at the interworkings of your body as you exercise.
